About the Artist -
Gladys Brodsky (Plate)
Gladys Brodsky (Plate) is a
popular artist amongst some of our leading American painters. She has
been successfully shown in many galleries such as Fletcher Gallery,
Woodstock NY, Gulf Coast Art Center, Clearwater FL, Long Boat
Key Gallery, FL, Arbitrage Gallery, NYC, NoHo Gallery,
NYC, Blanch Gallery, Woodstock NY, Ashawagh Hall, East
Hampton LI (w/Anita Steckel) and "Carnival Knowledge", Franklin
Furnace NY.
Her collections appeared in
Berkshire Museum Collection, Pittsfield MA, Museum of Modern
Art, NYC, Appleton Collection, Albany NY, Libby
Titus/Donald Fagen Collection and Atlantic and Pacific Tea
Collection (64' Mural).
Ms. Brodsky is a Graduate of
Temple University with a BFA art and education degree, a Masters in
education at SUNY New Paltz, and a Graduate of the Art Students League,
Woodstock NY.
Her awards are the
Woodstock Foundation Award, the Kuniyoshi Award, Purchase
Award, Berkshire Museum, the 5th Annual Williamstown Board Award,
Albany Museum of History & Art, honorable mention, 1st prize in oil (for
"Winter Wood").
A dedicated painter, she has devoted years to teaching in the very "Art
colony", in Woodstock, NY where she has resided for the past 41 years.
Ms. Brodsky also resides in Greenwich Village, NYC where her work was
displayed in the Museum of Modern Art.
